Baoule pulley stirrup, Ivory Coast. - Lot 337
Baoule pulley stirrup, Ivory Coast. Wood with shiny black-brown patina in places, accidents, local restoration. H. 18.5 cm. The arched stirrup is surmounted by a seductive face with heart-shaped features. Behind the high forehead, a double-shelled headdress, combed with fine wisps of hair, flanks the C-shaped ears. Note the old patina resulting from long handling, and a local restoration that attests to the interest shown in this object.
